How to use it
- Choose platforms. Android only, or Android and iOS.
- Set your rate. Use a quote you have, or a typical rate where you hire.
- Pick screens and features. Rough is fine — the goal is the order of magnitude.
- Compare. See build plus first-year maintenance for each approach.
How the estimate works
We start from a base of setup, design and testing hours, add about 14 hours per screen and a fixed number of hours per feature (for example 60 for payments, 80 for chat), then multiply by your rate. Cross-platform apps cost a little less for one platform and much less than two native apps. Native for both platforms nearly doubles the work. Maintenance — OS updates, library upgrades, bug fixes — is estimated at about a fifth of the build cost per year.
A converter is cheaper because it re-uses the website you already maintain: there's no second codebase. The trade-offs are covered in how to make a website an app and WebView vs TWA vs native.
Private by design: this tool runs entirely on your device. Nothing you type or add here is sent to a server.

Frequently asked questions
How much does it cost to turn a website into an app?
With a converter, from $0 (free APK) to about $60 a year for Google Play builds. Custom development typically runs from several thousand dollars upward, plus yearly maintenance.
Why is native development so much more expensive?
You build and maintain a separate product — and two if you need both Android and iOS.
Are these numbers quotes?
No. They are planning estimates; real quotes depend on design, backend work and the team.
