App theme colour from your logo

Your app's theme colour tints the status bar, splash screen and buttons. Drop in your logo and we'll pick colours that match it — and check that text on them stays readable.

    How to use it

    1. Add your logo. Choose your logo or app icon file.
    2. Check the suggestion. The preview shows the suggested theme colour on a status bar, header, button and splash screen.
    3. Try other colours. Tap any swatch to use it as the theme instead.
    4. Copy the hex codes. Paste them into the theme and splash settings in the builder.

    How the colours are picked

The image is shrunk to 96 × 96 pixels in your browser and similar pixels are grouped into buckets. The most common distinct colours become swatches. The suggested theme colour is the most saturated colour that's neither too light nor too dark; the splash background is your logo's lightest colour (or white). Text colour is chosen by WCAG contrast ratio, so labels on your status bar and buttons stay readable.

Use the theme colour in the no-code builder, and the same colour as theme_color in your web app manifest.

    Frequently asked questions

What colour should my app's status bar be?

Usually your brand colour or a slightly darker shade, so it blends with your site's header.

    Is my logo uploaded?

No. It's analysed on a canvas in your browser.

What contrast ratio do I need?

4.5:1 for normal text (WCAG AA); 3:1 is acceptable only for large or bold text.
